the gowns have an awesome new album out titled ‘red state‘ and i had a chance to listen to it more thoroughly on my ride up to chicago and back earlier this day.
so despite the driving-lag i was excited to see the gowns perform at pat’s which was a different venue altogether from the [ex] parish-hall show back in april of this year.

roue & low lamps [brian straw] had real nice sets as well this night.

september 22, 2006 at the grog-shop.

featuring bands; coffinberry, tall pines, the very knees. roue, the series & xela also performed but i drove with someone else, so..

the tinko guys set up this show for their friends whom has a band from cincy(?). that band canceled and the show went on with a decent gathering and some real good music.

way to go cincy(?).

the date for this years compound fest was august 5, 2006. the bill was made up of mostly bands that use the space as their practice site and a few other bands as well.

i had to leave at 6pm to arrange my ride for the evenings red krayola/blktygr show (those photos soon) so inevitably i missed a handful of bands (muamin, giant eagle, tall pines, homo stupids, boattz, short rabbits, friend..).

thanks goes out to the organizers including john neely that organized the bands and mr dilibarto (sp?) that was the main chef in front of the grill all day. also, much love to all the other folks (bands, sound,etc..) that provided their time and energy.

some of the bands i did catch was: roue, jerk, leroy’s frosted rocks, rainy day saints, sounder, this moment in black history, state of ohio, brandons new band & blazer.

i only took in a handful of bands at this years CMJ including apollo sunshine, roue, the happy bullets, de novo dahl.

the grog-shop had a decent christmas show that
featured some of cleveland’s best local bands: roue, machine
go boom, this moment in black history and sounder. 

the next night at the "happy dog"
had the new lou reeds & MGB but i only shot a few pics.
TNLRs have a dude playing horn and added a rhythm guitarist
that i forget his name but he plays in "the dreadful
yawns".

pat’s annual thanksgiving bash saw a show with no "viva caramel" performance this year. roue, coffinberry, photo booth & comrad all put on real fine performances. dave p pictured, put out so much energy that he broke his leg yet continued performing!
