december 7, 2006 at pat’s in the flats. this was the first night of the ohio smoking ban being in effect and the large crowd at pat’s this night cooperated fully and smokers went out into the windchill that was in the teens to quench their smoke.
early in their set, BJ of parts & labor recounted the last time they performed at pat’s which was the first time they played cleveland some four years ago. BJ went on to say: “the last time we played cleveland was also the first time we played pat’s, we played in the backfield and halfway through the set we were shutdown because of a noise-complaint. that was pat’s only noise complaint to this date. that won’t happen tonight”.
P&L then went on with one of the best sets i’ve seen of theirs out of more than a handful times that i was at one of their shows.
jerk and clan of the cave bear did not dissapoint, both putting on very inspiring sets that only get better with each show.
the flicks are here.

may 8, 2006 @ the chuech
parts & labor are a trio out of brooklyn that have that distinct brooklyn NY sound. P&L has a new album out called “stay afraid” and is evidence that their sound and songwriting continues to evolve. BJ used a couple of my photos as well as pics of a handful of other photographers. the photos are included on a insert in the album. i am not sure if they’re included in the CD.
BJ was kind enough to give me a copy of the album and unlike the defiance ohio record, P&L got my name correct.
the shots from this may 8, 2006 show at “the church” are here.
