december 7, 2006 at pat’s in the flats. this was the first night of the ohio smoking ban being in effect and the large crowd at pat’s this night cooperated fully and smokers went out into the windchill that was in the teens to quench their smoke.
early in their set, BJ of parts & labor recounted the last time they performed at pat’s which was the first time they played cleveland some four years ago. BJ went on to say: “the last time we played cleveland was also the first time we played pat’s, we played in the backfield and halfway through the set we were shutdown because of a noise-complaint. that was pat’s only noise complaint to this date. that won’t happen tonight”.
P&L then went on with one of the best sets i’ve seen of theirs out of more than a handful times that i was at one of their shows.
jerk and clan of the cave bear did not dissapoint, both putting on very inspiring sets that only get better with each show.
the flicks are here.

september 21, 2006 at pat’s in the flats.
first time i’ve seen COTCB since their breakup of nearly a year ago. COTCB performed a couple songs i have not heard before so i assume they are new.
‘to be a high powered executive’ was one of a few bands that opened this show but i missed the others.
here are some pictures.

its been a fun summer and i’m still catching
up on july photos which had the most photos of any month i can
remember.
at the end of july had a couple bands calling
it quits and a couple bands making their debut.
"clan of the cave bear" had their
final show on july 29th at "the tower" before
many friends to see john off before he leaves for new york
city. some have compared COTCB as math rock. john has noted in
the past that all their songs are inspired by the board game
"risk". saying john is (was) one of the most entertaining drummers in cleveland would not be a risk, just a fact.
the shots of "clan of the cave bear" (and "no peace") are here.
*COTCB rebanded several months after this posting.
