march 14, 2008 @ the matinée
this was the first night of the matinée of cleveland, there is another in akron and it appeared that they bussed half of their patrons in for this opening [people dressed “to the nines” & designer eye glasses kinda gave them up].
not that all those akrononians is a bad thing but it gave the place a “college campus” vibe, something else cleveland doesn’t have.
i arrived early into ‘the very knees’ set and left towards the end of the ‘black girls’ set which was actually well dressed white guys. a couple other bands performed prior but i have no clue whom.
a stranger from the ‘free times’ bought me a beer and a cute girl offered to buy me a beer so that was nice, unfortunately my memory fails me of the gentleman from the FT’s name but i’m going with mark. if this is not your name and you’re reading this, please correct me below & gracias.
all in all this is a nice club, time will tell if it can live up to the reputation of other live venue bars in town.
here are the photos.

february 2, 2008 @ asterisk gallery.
synopsis: start with 170 willing participants. choose teams [bands] by pulling number out of a hopper, go five rounds until all teams are chosen without having a band member that you were in a band before with.
next part of this process will give the 33 new bands 6+ weeks to write songs, practice/rehearse and the last process will be to perform live at the top clubs in cleveland.
much fun to be had an much anticipation for the development of the league. my blog about the league is here, you can also check these out: lottery-league blog, lottery-league myspace.
