i just happen to pass this is dance performance while riding my bike sunday afternoon and i’m glad i doubled back to get a better look.

That’s an “open [to other groups] roda [Capoeira circle]” hosted by Grupo Unidade Capoeira which operates out of that room in Lemko where you found them.
Open rodas are at noon on the last Sunday of each month.
Grupo Unidade offers classes there on a regular basis.

thank you for the detail information jeff. i was hoping a visitor would fill me in with with further knowledge of the exercise i happened to witness.
the dance was all about participation and included a wide range of experience as well as novice youngsters, the space was previously the ‘language foundry’ and during large performances the space has not much room for spectators unless you don’t mind viewing from the doorway or windows.
