there is one month left in the existence of parish hall, the local DIY that was a start up of ryan weitzel and a collective of folks that promoted the local cleveland art and music scene with providing a multi functional space for local & international performers to share their craft.

there is another month to ‘experience’ another soon to be defunct DIY space before they close the doors on october 1st.

august 24, 2007 at the grog shop.

this was the second half of an four band bill at the grog shop that was complimenting the jon hicks art show down stairs at the b-side. hicks show also inspired an article in the friday magazine of the PD that feature jon as well as jake kelly john greiner, derek hess and others, that PD article is here.

i arrived here after my day job so i missed ‘paleo’ & ‘mystery of two’. local writer the organic mechanic has a blurg of this evening here as well as a couple dark videos of paleo & chum [thank you adam].

i have several shots of the night here.

my birthday fell on sunday the 12 of august & i needed a boost so i rode my bike around the near west-side/flats and shot some pictures of old buildings, most of them being abandoned and feeling worse than i.

this was the third year for compound fest which held at a dusty parking lot off of 63rd & st. claire. the event lasted for 12 hours but i was only present for 8 hours and saw 9 bands perform.

the deathers are: jae [SDB], paul [zommbie proof studio, ex-giant eagle, black ark], rich [SDB], bim [TMIBH] and they were making their debut before local favorites we march & kill the hippies. catch the deathers before the die a quick life ala ‘giant eagle’..
