blktygr performed outside the coffee shop on the corner of west 11 & kenilworth on july 14, 2006 as part of the tremont artwalk. the performance lasted about 45mins before the rain poured down.

a salute to albert ayler. july 16, 2006 at the may company during ingenuity fest.
ra. washington put together a “jazz opera” of the legendary free jazz artist albert ayler and their performance was outstanding. daniel gray kontar provided the “ayler voice” and was excellent. noel & eric (dord) videotaped the program and i’m looking forward to seeing that.

for now we’ll have to settle for these photos.

konono played the beachland ballroom on july 11, 2006.

konono #1 is an experimental band from the congo and play “thumb-pianos” which are little rods connected to a resonator which end up making beautiful sounds.

one of the best shows i’ve seen in a couple years.
