leigh and david of little songs that made its debut earlier this night..

rafeeq opening for prefuse 73 at the grog shop.

someone asked me last night if i had my camera or am i taking a break from photography when he seen me on the riverbank w/o my camera. my reply was that i am over the stage of being uncomfortable with always having my camera at events but i do find it hard to keep up with all the photos i take. case in point: as i write this at 0338 hours on this post memorial day tuesday morning after my 10.5 hour shift at work, i have yet to even look at the shots i have taken of *prefuse 73* and rafeeq’s project that opened up for them, which i completly overlooked from nearly three weeks ago. also, i haven’t looked at any of this weekends bands that i shot: *fireworks and feedback*, *plasma for guns*, *houseguest*, *machine go boom*, *lives of the saints*, *racoo-oo-oon*, *old time relijun*, *little songs*, *the very knees*, *poor sailor*, *mother button* & *jj magazine*. four of those bands were performing their first show ever and lives of the saints had their last show.
on a side note, the girl that plays drums for old time relijun asked me if i could email her where she could checkout the shots of *mother button*. it was cool that all those folks that performed at “the church” earlier that afternoon were checking out the local bands in the wee hours of the night..

the top photo is of leigh & dave of *little songs* whom made their debut a few hours prior. the bottom shot is from rafeeq’s gig that opened for prefuse 73 from may 11th that was overlooked until this day.

post note: i inadvertently published this post as private at 4am and just noticed my error this afternoon.

parts and labor performed at *the church* in tremont, cleveland.

may 8, 2006 @ the chuech

parts & labor are a trio out of brooklyn that have that distinct brooklyn NY sound. P&L has a new album out called “stay afraid” and is evidence that their sound and songwriting continues to evolve. BJ used a couple of my photos as well as pics of a handful of other photographers. the photos are included on a insert in the album. i am not sure if they’re included in the CD.
BJ was kind enough to give me a copy of the album and unlike the defiance ohio record, P&L got my name correct.

the shots from this may 8, 2006 show at “the church” are here.

truck fire on I-490 shot by andy timithy

we played the first game of this third season on saturday 6, may 2006 at the usual locale of the clark fields at tremont industrial park.
the temps were in the low 50s and the wind chill was in the 40s but that did not keep people away. i counted approxamitely 30 people, not all played though i think everyone had a good time under the cloudless sky..
a couple hours into the day we spotted a pickup on fire on I-490, i didn’t bother walking the 400 feet to the freeway to get a photo but crack action news tremont photographer: andy timithy shot several decent shots of the inferno. the fiery photo on the left is courtesy of andy timithy, the rest of his shots are at his flickr-page.
my shots of the days softball action are here. shots of previous PRS seasons are here.

erick hughes going away party at the church saw roue, we march, brian straw & neil blender perform.

with local bands roue, we march, brian straw & neil blender performing at *the church* april 29, 2006.

tony merritt assembled the backdrop which had ericks face repeated ala warhol style. i am not sure if tony knew it or not but that photo is from the going away party that erick had for keith marlowe at the defunct *blackeye*, coincidence?

    the shots are here.
