black merda performed for the first time outside of detroit in thirty years saturday night at the beachland ballroom.
black merda is recognized as the first “black” hard-rock band (not “living color”).

opening for black merda was clevelands “this moment in black history”.

today i sorted my 2005 photo compilation and created the “2006 photo collective” where my latest photos will be uploaded to.

this is now my fifth year of keeping a yearly photo journal that is sorted by months. the other yearly photo journals can be found here.

i also had time to update the “people i shot in cleveland” & “rock, punk & pop” galleries. something that hasn’t been done in months..

steve goldberg, nick an a couple others have recently started poetry readings done open-mic style once a month at the lit.
this one was done as a benefit to steve smith who has been experiencing health problems.

the "happy dog" on west 58th &
detroit in cleveland is a nice place to sit down and have a
meal, the food is good and reasonably priced.

the place also has bands perform on certain
evenings and if you choose the right night you may catch a
couple good bands which was the case this tuesday night with
"mike uva & hookboy", brian straw and "good
morning valentine". 

if i have any negative about the happy dog it
is that it could take 15mins to get a drink at the bar when
its busy.

i spent a few hours at the entertaining NYE
party the literary cafe threw on saturday. most if not all the
shots were taken with the shutter at => 1-second and the
flash was used.
