the saturday show this weekend was at
"the compound" on the 63rd off of st. claire ave.
section of cleveland. many bands played a wide range of
tastes. punk shared the stage with rap, indie, pop-punk, noise
and other flavors.
the gallery of photos of the "straight
out of compound" fest are here.
self destruct button had one of their better
shows of date in the alley behind a ten foot barbed-wired
fence, below is a video.

just getting around to the august photos and
the month is nearly over. anyway, august 12 was my birthday
and the third annual "lou’s birthday bash" was at
pat’s and had the "wives" from LA, "business
lady" (san diego) and locals "this moment in black
history" performing before a sweltering crowd on the
150th tremont artwalk.
many thanks to those whom made it out to wish
me happy birthday and those who could not make it because of
the many other events taking place this night.
here are the shots.

its been a fun summer and i’m still catching
up on july photos which had the most photos of any month i can
remember.
at the end of july had a couple bands calling
it quits and a couple bands making their debut.
"clan of the cave bear" had their
final show on july 29th at "the tower" before
many friends to see john off before he leaves for new york
city. some have compared COTCB as math rock. john has noted in
the past that all their songs are inspired by the board game
"risk". saying john is (was) one of the most entertaining drummers in cleveland would not be a risk, just a fact.
the shots of "clan of the cave bear" (and "no peace") are here.
*COTCB rebanded several months after this posting.
